At infancy, Singapore needed selfless, principled and talented people. And we were very fortunate to be have had people like LKY and GKS who were willing to put their comfortable lives on the line and lead us to independence.

All Singaporeans are forever indebted to these two men.

Let me share you the facts of life – Intelligent people ALWAYS put their faith in good systems; as for people are good and bad depending on what they had for breakfast and possibly lunch, so they will ALWAYS be dispensable.

Besides, it is never healthy for to put ordinary people on a pedestal. You are just setting setting yourself up for the proverbial fall.

Everything else is mere commentary

Every good leader knows this; if he doesn’t then history will cut him down to size.

I wonder why they never said the same about Lim Chin Siong.

Just wondering since we are talking about giants.

But I guess these days, it will be blasphemous for anyone to call him a giant.

I’m sorry. I was reminiscing. I hope people don’t pick on this.

My respect goes to Dr Goh Keng Swee and of course to all those who founded Singapore.
